Vodohod cares about Baikal Lake ecology

Members of the Baikal Expedition tour planted 55 pine and cedar saplings on the shore of Lake Baikal near the village of Turka in the Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia. The ecological event organized by Vodohod together with the Government of the Republic of Buryatia will become a good tradition in every expedition tour on the eastern coast of Lake Baikal.

Awareness vacation

The first ecological group landed in the most modern port of Baikal near the village of Turka, where trees were planted. Tourists of the third summer expedition, who came to Baikal from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Tyumen, gladly took part in the Green action and thanked for the opportunity to leave their good mark on Baikal. The Government of the Republic of Buryatia supported the initiative of Vodohod company by providing the place and facilities for the ecological action of forest planting. The parties agreed to conduct similar social projects on a regular basis.

Careful attitude to nature will always be a priority on the Baikal tourism development agenda, because natural treasures of the ancient lake can only be preserved together. If every tourist leaves his/her mark on Baikal not in the form of garbage, but in the form of one new tree, the next guests will also be pleased to come to the region for vacation. When regional authorities and private business work together, such useful actions are organized much faster.

Two coasts of new discoveries

Vodohod arranges expedition tours in Baikal since 2022. For year-round work on the lake, a multifunctional Biryusa hovercraft was built by order of the company. In the summer season of 2023 Vodohod company will organize 18 expedition tours along the Western and Eastern coasts of Baikal, of which 7 voyages have already taken place. The route of Baikal expeditions runs along two coasts of the lake: the western coast (Irkutsk region) and the eastern coast (Republic of Buryatia).
