Volga River: Moscow to Kazan

Description

The appearance of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan is determined by a mixture of Russian and eastern colors. For more than four centuries, Kazan has been surrounded by the white stonewalls of the Kremlin, which is now a UNESCO monument. Take a walk around the Kremlin grounds and emerge yourself in its extraordinary surroundings. On the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, there is a wonderful Kul Sharif Mosque. Nearby, there is the Suyumbike Tower. This historical pearl is the local version of Leaning Tower of Pisa. In Kazan, religions and cultures are closely intertwined. Orthodox churches are located alongside the mosques. The modern capital of Tatarstan is tolerant of all religions, and even has a unique architectural complex – the Temple of All Religions. Kazan is called the third capital of Russia. It also firmly retains the title of the sports capital of the country. Both the 2013 Summer Universiade and the 2018 FIFA World Cup were held here. Your tour to Kazan is also a gastronomic tour. Local chefs have preserved the ancient recipes of national dishes. You can try a Tatar noodle soup Tokmach, local pastries Echpochmak, and the pride of local chefs – a Tatarstan's national sweet Chak-chak.
